This body of believers dates back to 1985 when Kim Gray, with his wife Tina and their children moved to Arizona from Oregon so that Pastor Gray could lead Liberty Baptist Church in Phoenix. They moved to their currently location and incorporated as Harvest Baptist Church of Goodyear in September of 1999. They met for several years in the house that was on the property.

By faith in 2007 they trusted God and built the campus that currently sits on the property. The original house is still there and serves as the Fellowship Hall and Missionary Apartment for visiting missionaries.

Over the years we have hosted many missionaries, evangelists and preachers, as well as music and drama teams from several Independent Baptist colleges. God used each of them to mold us to where we are today. By God's grace and help, we as a church will continue in the path He has prepared for us.

In Oct of 2023, Kim and Tina announced their desire to retire and in God's perfect timing He directed Doug Cook and his wife Michelle through our doors to visit just a couple of weeks later. Brother Cook learned of our need for a pastor, was asked by the pulpit committee to candidate, and on Sunday Jan 22nd, 2023 we voted and he went from Brother Cook to Pastor Douglas M Cook Jr.

We are happy, excited, and looking forward to all God will do through the Godly leadership Pastor Cook has already demonstrated and will continue to provide for years to come. Our church is greatly blessed!

Our continued desire is that the gospel is given here through solid Biblical preaching and teaching, and abroad through a strong missions program. Our church verse is 1 Cor. 1:23a, "But we preach Christ crucified."
